NTUBeacon Submission Guidelines
· Articles must adhere to standard journalism style, except for opinion/editorial pieces and features articles.
· Articles must have a title, with the name of the author supplied in Chinese and/or English.
· Articles may be submitted in .txt, .rtf, .doc or .docx formats. Submit articles with standard black text, in 12 point font, double spaced. Included word count with your submission, and contact information for the author.
· All works except for special poetry (see below) are to be submitted in English.
· News reports covering campus news and possibly local Taipei news, opinion/editorial pieces in an essay style, and feature articles are accepted. Fiction and poetry may be accepted, but currently these genres are not being considered by the paper. They may be in the future. Poems may be in Chinese, but fiction may not.
· News articles and opinion pieces have a maximum word count of 500 words. Feature articles have a maximum word count of 800 words.
· Newspaper editors reserve all rights to edit work for style, brevity, consistency, coherence and correct grammar.
· Documents must have standard Microsoft Word formatting with 3.17 cm margins left and right, and 2.54 cm top and bottom.
· Do not use footnotes or any other Microsoft special formatting or features in in articles.
· Authors may include photographs or other graphics with news articles and feature articles.
· There is no need to cite sources or provide a works cited section. This can be done in the opinion/editorial piece (but not news or feature articles) if necessary.
· Submit articles electronically to dpendery@webmail.ntcb.edu.tw. Note that you are submitting an article to NTUBeacon in the subject line.
· Submitted articles become the property of NTUBeacon, but may be published elsewhere.
· Works are provided to NTUBeacon without pay.
· Authors may find it best to contact editors at NTUBeacon to pitch story proposals, before writing.
