The students who represented our department took part in the “Northern Taiwan Technological & Vocational Education English Presentation Competition 2008” and “Mackay Cup English Presentation Competition 2008”won the Championship respectively.

Our department won the Internationalization Scholarship Championship in our school.

A conference on teaching and learning applied foreign languages was held on November 13th and 14th, 2008. Several teachers from our department presented their papers, and a couple of scholars from University of Utah State - MaryAnn Christison and Adrian Palmer – made two speeches, which benefited both the teachers and students.

The “English and Japanese Discussing Campus Party” was held in “Donyanshan National Forest Recreation Area” and “Fu-tian Village” on November 22nd and 23rd.  We had a great success.

Dr. Minkang Zhou, who comes from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, made an inspiring speech on November 28th, which was highly acclaimed.

AFL students presented a play, “Little Red Hen” and held a “Christmas sing-n-play” activity for children at Y-17 Young Party Youth Center on December 4th.  Children and parents sang and played with joy and fun.

The E Café (a place to expose yourself to the world of English and other foreign languages) and the Self-access Learning Space is open to all students in our department.  In addition, the Self-access Learning Space was partitioned into four areas:  E-Learning Area, Self Study Area, Newspaper and Periodical Reading Area, and Counsel Area.  Please comply with the regulations.

The first-stage online registration for the second semester will be December 15 through December 19. Students should note the registration time. If there are any problems, please inquire at the department office.
