外語自學中心多媒體區已於11月20日下午啟用，閱覽區也將於近期開張。為維持管理品質，使用者請先持證件至系辦公室換號碼牌。

The Self-access Learning Space was inaugurated on November 20 and the Reading Area will soon be open to students.  To keep order students are requested to exchange their IDs for number cards at the department office.

12月7日將舉行加拿大英語聖誕文化體驗活動，將邀請Leon VanderPol到校演講。

A workshop featuring a Canadian Christmas celebration will take place on December 7. Leon VanderPol will be invited.

本系已建構網路報修系統，請多利用。

The department web maintenance system has been installed.  Services can be reserved online.

本系將於12月21日舉辦「應用外語教與學」學術研討會，會中將邀請師大英語系系主任陳秋蘭教授演講，且本系多位教師將發表論文。

A conference on teaching and learning applied foreign languages will be held on December 21.  Prof. Chern Chiou-lan (Chair, English Department, National Taiwan Normal University) will be invited to give a speech. Several faculty members will present their papers.

The first-stage online registration for the second semester will be December 17 through December 21. Students should note the registration time. If there are any problems, please inquire at the department office.

本月之星──誰是阿強？

號 稱“應外系的台柱”、身懷各種電腦問題解決秘笈的“電腦人”、深受廣大學生歡迎的“當家小生”──阿強，是本系二技部的傑出系友，由於身懷絕技，因此進入 本系服務之後，也為系上盡自己一份心力。本系許多多媒體的設計都是阿強一手包辦，如系版上互動式的貼心服務，就是出自阿強之手喔！阿強將自己所學回饋給應 外系，讓系上變得更科技化了。強哥目前還是超級黃金單身漢，所以也歡迎同學幫他做媒唷！

本月之星──誰是老爹？轟動武林、驚動萬教的老爹！到底是何方神聖呢？老 爹本名叫唐立城，是系科學會的科會長，也是系科學會中的靈魂人物。由於外型與灌籃高手“安西教練”十分相似，因此同學們都以“老爹”來稱呼他。只要是系科 學會舉辦的活動，一定可以看到老爹的身影。熱心助人、為人和善、超級好脾氣的老爹，可是應外系系科學會中不可或缺的重要人物呢！

系科學會在12/7辦應外系聖誕服裝彩妝秀，參與人員為應外系五專及二技部同學，彩妝秀將頒給第一到第三名同學獎學金予以鼓勵。
